Hi

Just following on from another thread in the diet section.

What do people use or suggest for worming their Kinkajous. I am asking this out of interest and do not suggest you use any worming product without consulting a vet.

In the Uk Panacur was the normal drug that was prescribed but apparently was having poor results. It was suggested that Kinks digestive system / metabolism was too fast for the Kinks to absorb the Panacur properly ???.
Therefore Advocate was suggested and I have used this for a while now. Recently though it appears Panacur is back in favour.

What are your thoughts ?.

Best Wishes

Neil

Hi,
since the disaster with Ronja we check the poop 1x year. We don't take drugs to worming.
Before this we took Panacur and we never had problems with worms by Arnold and Monchichi.
By Ronja we had bad memory's to wormed with Panacur. Okay, when she came to us, she was so, so, so full of worms. Terrible :( .
Our VET injected her IVOMEC. It's a very, very strong drug to worming cows. horses ect.
But Ivomec is not to use without consultation with vet. Because this drug could be strongly side effects.
We take this drug by Ronja, because Panacur not to execution worms and without this experience (with Ivomec) she would died.
Fortunaly after all this consultations with vet Ronja is healthy and all of our kinkajou's without worms :).
Greets Manu

PS:This are only our own experience
